Pestana Alto Golf Course
Alto Golf's hole 16 is nicknamed "The Giant" and is one of the longest in Europe's golf courses.
The winding fairways and elevated greens provide low handicap players with a testing game and still affording plenty of enjoyment for players at average club level and game enjoyment for beginners.
On the first nine holes players have the added pleasure of enjoying an excellent view over the Atlantic Ocean. The last nine face inland, running through gentle slopes.
Any player who manages a birdie on the 16th hole will receive a certificate and his or her name will be inscribed on Altos's roll of honour.
